Opening night success

The launch of the Contemporary Australian Family Photographic Project, book and DVD was a huge success with Hon John Day, Bob Hewitt, Kylie Lyons, David Watson, Gael Newton, Jeff Moorfoot, Sam Harris, and many others joining in the celebrations. So thank you for your support. Thanks to Chris, Cim and April for their help on the night.

The Minister for Culture and the Arts, Hon John Day officially launches the exhibition.

David Watson from Momento Pro, the Printers of the book was the MC for the launch. Gael Newton (NGA), Bob Hewitt (Foto Freo) Jeff Moorfoot (Ballarat Biennale) watch on as David MC’s the launch.

It was fun and games at the gallery hanging the exhibition, which took 6 1/2 hours to hang on Monday, and some 2 hours to finish off on Tuesday. Our thanks goes to Ainsley for his help in hanging. There was laughter when Dawne and Christine (who was jetlagged after landing in OZ from Belgium) had a face off on either side of the window pane while washing the gallery windows, and Cim and April got busy in the background.

Invite your family and friends to the launch of the Contemporary Australian Family Photographic Project this coming Thursday

It is with great pleasure that in addition to Hon John Day MLA, WA Minister for Culture and the Arts who is attending the launch of  the exhibition, that we can now announce that Bob Hewitt, 2012 Foto Freo Festival Director will also speak at the opening. This is in addition to Kylie Lyons, AIPP National Vice President and Dawne Fahey, representing Fier Institute.

So please invite your families and friends to come along for a evening of good company, and a celebration of the Family Project coming of age.

The book looks absolutely stunning, thanks to Momento Pro printing, as do the framed exhibition prints. My sincere thanks goes to Cim Sears for all her help and assistance over these past few days and in the forthcoming days leading up to the launch.

Make sure if you wander through Northbridge, that you take the time to stop and watch our DVD multimedia presentation being featured on the Piazza Outdoor Screen, 4 times a day for the month of Foto Freo. Our thanks to Steve for preparing it.

So it is all happening folks………
